Miss Manners takes on form letter greeting cards

I don't get it. Why would anybody want to receive an impersonal, rubber-stamped greeting card? I mean, you know I don't love "the holidays," but I do see greeting cards as an opportunity to thank people for being in my life. Individually. That's one reason that my holiday cards are rarely on time... but better late than canned, if you ask me.
