Wow, yes, I read that Williamsburg article and just shook my head. Yes, trustfundians, start making yourself useful or get out of my neighborhood.
Strangely enough, we ran into the same problem while selling our old house. A trustfundian hipster couple put in an offer, but then they pulled out at the last minute afraid that they wouldn't be able to handle the mortgage "on their own" -- and our real estate agent suspected that someone's parents hadn't come through. We ended up selling the house to a single woman who wasn't the nicest person I've ever met (music biz bigwig) but had made all of her money on her own. I'd say the best person got the house.
Oh, and I should point out that people from NY often point to my old neighborhood (Silverlake) as a WC Williamsburg.
