Tuesday morning roundup

Food poisoning isn't as exotic as terrorism, but it kills and sickens more people, and the government has no less a responsibility to protect you from it (although Ron Paul may disagree with that statement). It's not apolitical--it doesn't just happen; it happens because the food industry has lobbied tirelessly to weaken regulation. Have I mentioned that you should see "Food, Inc."?

I almost forgot about the massive structural damage that government agencies sustained over eight years of the Bush administration, as well as official use of the "real Americans" distinction. Which reminds me: do check out Michele Bachmann's Dickipedia page.

If Turkey and Armenia can restore diplomatic relations, there's hope for the rest of the world.

David Brooks and Bob Dole agree we need health care reform, and agree that ramming it through with reconciliation would be bad.

Can you believe it's September? It really snuck up on me... although the air in DC changed almost overnight. I'm not complaining.
