Sunday morning roundup

Women in Pakistan are often willing to risk their lives to marry freely.

Someone thought that solitary confinement of schoolchildren would be a good idea??

Yes, thank you! What have I been saying all along about taste?
“I didn’t intend to seek out organic local food, said Ms. Waters said in an interview. “I was looking for taste.”

Like others, she thought the Stanford study was too narrowly focused on nutrients and had been largely misinterpreted.

“Taste is what’s going to get us to eat seven portions of fruits and vegetables a day,” she said. “To not consider taste and quality in this whole discussion is to completely miss the point about food.”

The NFL, and NFL players, stand up to hate. Read Chris Kluwe's letter in its entirety because it is awesome. I think it may define awesome. I will merely excerpt a couple of lines:
This is more a personal quibble of mine, but why do you hate freedom? Why do you hate the fact that other people want a chance to live their lives and be happy, even though they may believe in something different than you, or act different than you?
Word.
