Thursday evening roundup

Don't Ask, Don't Tell is officially stupid.

I know I've said that Tom Friedman borrows and rehashes the same ideas... and oversimplifies things, but I've also said that when he's right he's right, and sometimes that--i.e. synthesizing other people's ideas/observations and rehashing (er, incorporating) your own--hits the spot.

Really, DC? Do you really thing cutting funding for House of Ruth is smart?

Beware the indoctrination campaign.

It's about time. I f*ing love Riesling.

That's what happens when you base trend stories on a handful of people.

Quote of the Day from Women's Health:
You see, food manufacturers think you're stupid. In fact, their marketing strategies rely on it.
Yup. Read labels carefully. The same goes for cleaning products, where greenwashing is rampant.
