Thursday roundup

Ariel Castro didn't beat his wife; "it"--the beating--happened on its own because he couldn't get her to quiet down. Apparently, Yale follows a similar logic with regard to "nonconsexual sex."

Women--particularly women in science--have come a long way since the pioneering Maria Mitchell but people still feel entitled to micromanage women's facial expressions. This happened to me today, in my office. Someone came by, told me to smile. I told her to f* off. She'd gotten off with a warning (and explanation) last time she'd told me to smile.

Just say "no" to ag-gag. Say "yes" to fruit.
