Wednesday evening roundup

Pablo Escobar's son chooses his own legacy.

This, my friends, is perseverence.

I couldn't agree more with Sally Quinn on this. Who are these codependent people that go out just to talk to each other?

I don't agree with her here, though; Ruth Marcus is right on.

Who is raising all these people in barns?

Here's a newspaper-cutting-back story that fails to move me.

As a somewhat shy person, I wouldn't describe myself as co-dependent on my husband, but I don't like to sit apart from him at dinner parties, simply b/c I feel awkward w/ meeting new people, and his presence helps me be more comfortable in those kinds of situations.

However, since he works weird hours I often have to attend events alone, and I've found that I can easily achieve the same level of comfort w/ 2 glasses of wine. :)

Oh, and yes, my social life suffered mightily while I was pregnant and couldn't drink.
