So, my question is, is this actually an opportunity for Accenture, since people are actually finding out what they do? Question aside, Mr. Rich's overall point is a very good one: why do we buy these carefully crafted illusions? Sometimes we all want to believe in the cake that defies the laws of physics.
Here's something that I think I should read in its entirety, since I care about print media, of which the future of Reader's Digest is a microcosm. But the article is kind of blah. And besides, there are so many media companies already doing the all-topic thing (Martha Stewart, Oprah, BHG), and how many magazines do you need to publish the best cookie recipe ever?
