Five countries, five people (for a week; then three for the next week), four currencies, and one very involved spreadsheet to guide our journey through numerous walled cities, mountains, seashores, lakes, and caves.
We flew into Tirana; took a bus to Kotor and another to Dubrovnik; hired a driver to take us to Orebic, from which we ferried to Korcula; from which we ferried to Split; from which two of us (not me) ferried to Italy and the other three (including me) drove drove to Sarajevo by way of Mostar; from Sarajevo, we (though I did not partake in the driving) drove to Zadar and then to Plitvice; and from there to Bled by way of Postojna; from there, to Zagreb by way of Ljubljana; and from Zagreb we flew to our respective homes. This map mostly captures it but not quite (we exceeded the number of stops Google Maps allows for).
For now, I'll leave you with a photo or two from each place, starting with Tirana.
