I've retired the mom blog (mom's historic warm, fuzzy affirmations are still available in the archives (posts labeled 'mom blog' and, for the best of those, 'classic')). I enjoyed the years of fat talk and running commentary on my hair and personality as much as you did, but mom moved on and so must the blog.

Slaughtergate
Some interesting points in defense of Tracy McMillan, and an even more important point beside her point: men need to listen up, too.
I've been meaning to post some responses to the Slaughter piece in the Atlantic. Opt for this one in the Times, not this misguided one, mostly but not only because of its socialist bent. She seems to completely miss Slaughter's point; does anyone think that Slaughter's in it for the rat race, rather than for the service and personal fulfillment? Does the blogger see success as merely a capitalist construct, rather than the achievement of one's personal goals?
