I've retired the mom blog (mom's historic warm, fuzzy affirmations are still available in the archives (posts labeled 'mom blog' and, for the best of those, 'classic')). I enjoyed the years of fat talk and running commentary on my hair and personality as much as you did, but mom moved on and so must the blog.

Wednesday--making dinner
Mom: I don't understand how you can make mushrooms without butter. I don't understand it. (Rinse, repeat.)
[Pause.]
Mom: The most important issue here is that you're getting fatter and fatter on this plant-based food.
throw her for a loop and tell her you're fat on love or some sort of nonsense and see what sort of reaction you get?
